By - President Donald Trump is set to attend a high-profile policy conference with House Republican lawmakers in his home state of Florida. Trump first landed in Miami on Saturday and has been at his Trump National Doral Miami golf club, where the conference is taking place, since then.
- Trump could see another Cabinet member confirmed today, with treasury secretary pick Scott Bessent set to receive a final Senate vote at 5:30 p.m. ET.
- Even without his full Cabinet in place, Trump has managed to implement several fiscal policies since he was sworn in to a second term exactly a week ago today. Yesterday, Trump engaged in a lengthy tariffs standoff with the president of Colombia in which the White House claimed victory. Colombia has said it will repatriate its nationals while “guaranteeing them dignified conditions as citizens subject to rights.”
